Borrowing to invest

What is everyones opinion on borrowing money to invest in the stock market?
i wouldnt recommend it and would also advise you to stay away from the ISEQ at the moment. Although alot of opinions say there is value in the ISEQ at the moment, no one has a crystal ball and can tell whats around the corner. You will have to get a hugh return to cover the 7-8% you will probably have to pay for interest. if you have no experience of investing in the stock market i would advise you to invest in ETF's. If you dont know what they are, I would recommend that you read up on investing before risking an investment.

have you choosen your stocks? have you done any research on the market
there is a reason banks wont lend you money if you tell them your going to use it to invest in shares. i wouldnt go near it my friend. if your investing to buy shares for dividend yield or long term growth, you can't be constrained by how much you're interest repayments are costing you, and when you need to repay it. my advice would be steer clear of debt financed investing.
