Zero-Point Violations & Insurance
I live in the State of Michigan. I've had about 4 moving violations in the last year (2 for speeding and 2 for improper turns) I've been fortunate to get all 4 reduced to zero point violations and only had to pay a fine for each ticket. My question is, when applying for an insurance policy, do zero point violations still show up on my driving record?
All moving violations will appear on your driving record. You can see a sample report in this document [PDF Format], a guide to interpreting a Michigan driving record - scroll to the last page.
If those violations were reduced in court to "Limited Access Speeding" with 0 points instead of speeding with 2 points when I apply for insurance can I not include those at all, or list them as something other than speeding like a "minor moving violation" or something?
You should answer the questions honestly; I haven't seen the application.
But you should anticipate that the insurer is going to get a five year driving record from the Secretary of State before finalizing your policy and rate.
