Financial Channel

I purchased a 1997 Chevy S-10 with a camper shell (cap/cover). I went to get insurance on the truck and was asked to buy insurance on the shell. I had decliined. Later I had called to ask what the insurance covered or did not cover and was giving very vague answeres, but, when I had asked if my shell blew off while driving and hit or was hit by another driver pedestrian or whatever if any damage caused by this would be covered. I was told no, that is what the insurance is for. Does not my PL & PD cover this??

I have PL & PD, COMP & COLL I live in CA.

You specifically chose not to have the shell covered by your policy, and you want to know if it is covered anyway? You can review your policy language to see if any such argument could be made, but you should assume not.
