Accident claim after car owner moved to another state
I hope someone can help me on this one....Any answers and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Here is the deal. I moved from Georgia about a year ago but i have a car still there at my brothers house. It is insured and he is listed on the policy as a driver. He got into an accident the other night and the adjuster called and asked me a couple questions. mainly the address, if the vehicle was mine, etc. He is under the impression that i still live there but i don't. Is there anything wrong with this situation. My brother said the guy hit him front on so the guy is really responsible. I am really nervous about this situation. See i still live between both places even though i am here most of the time. i am unsure what to do. the adjuster hasn't called back since so am i to assume everything will be okay. i am loosing sleep over this and i am not sure if i should. do you think everything will be fine??????
Thanks....

Well, you didn't say which adjuster called. You need to contact your insurance company and inform them of your exact situation. You don't want to be in a position in which your claim is denied because of material misrepresentation. That means that, had the insurance company known the risk ahead of time, and that insurance company would not have either offered or continued the policy had they known, they can deny the claim because you knew abou the risk, and didn't notify them promptly. But, since the accident was not your brother's fault, it probably won't make a difference. Get some rest.
