Traffic Ticket With No Insurance
I received a traffic ticket today for driving while not wearing a seat belt and not having insurance; I've have to appear before the court for the latter infraction. My drivers license is with Vermont, however my tickets were issued in New York. The New York drivers insurance laws are much stricter, and they automatically revoke your license for one year. In Vermont, you're allowed to file Financial Responsibility Insurance with the Vermont DMV.
My question is can New York state revoke my Vermont's license? And if not, could I drive in New York when I get insurance in Vermont? Thank you.

I suggest that you contact the Vermont DMV to see how they would treat the New York suspension. Even if Vermont does not suspend your license, New York can suspend your right to drive within its borders, and can prosecute you for driving within the state while your driving privileges are suspended.
