Penalty for cancelling IPO unit reservation?
I reserved some income fund units from my company's IPO spinoff, but seriously having second thoughts due to a number of reasons, namely the recent market trending down for income trust/funds (down 4% this month) and lower than expected anticipation for recent IPO announcements (ie Teranet, Standard). Just wondering if i be penalized if I back out now???? The IPO doesn't settle and go on the market until the middle of next week. I'll check back with them on Monday to get a definite answer but I was curious if anyone would know what the outcome would be if I cancell a few days before the settlement date.
it depends on the policy of your company.
i know for the recent VONAGE ipo, they offered shares to their customers but when some customers backed out they threatened to sue.
