Starting July 1st 2006, PC Financial will begin to offer accounts to residents of Quebec.

I am unsure of when pavilions will be opened within Quebec, however accounts can be opened over the internet or telephone banking.

I opened mine yesterday, apprently for now you have to go a Pavillon to get your account setup

where are the pavillions set up??

I am not sure, in my area they are located in Loblaws on the Ontario side only.

I've been using PCF for over 2 years. I simply entered my real adress but I selected Ontario for province instead of QC. Everything went through fine and I've been an happy PCF customer ever since.

I'm from Montreal and signed up online the same way yesterday... I entered all my info and just put ON instead of QC. Today, I received an email to call a phone representative. I called, and they confirmed my application information and everything was fine. They will be sending me a package containing all info on the account...

Quebec residents must go to a pavilion to open their accounts. Accounts cannot be opened over the phone or online. There are no pavilions currently located in Quebec, and there has been no information as to when Quebec pavilions will be opened.

I don't recall any existing no fee everyday use account in QC so far...

the no fee at over 4000 PCF & CIBC ATMs is a great feature!

Read my previous post and it will unlock all PCF possibilities even if you live in "La Belle Province".

If you dont mind me asking, what are your holds and limits from the machine? (PM me as you might not want to post on the board). If you are applying for a credit product this little 'trick' might not work. I've never encountered this, but also this is probably just an error on part of whichever PBR opened your account for you. There are controls in place to see that this doesnt happen, but human error also plays a role.


If you look on the top-right of the screen wehre it has the PC logo, you will see underneath it says "Now serving Quebec"

Yeah I saw that too but it only allows you to apply for the PC mastercard, not the banking options.


Lady on the phone told me that I had to go to a branch to open one...hence Ottawa being closest to Montreal.

ONce again, stupid provincial regulations are prohibiting them from opening one at QC Loblaws/Maxi/Provigo's.

I dont know what it is exactly because we USE to have National Bank branches in most of those locations.

I honestly couldn't say about holds & limits since I use it mainly to pay bills and our monthly rent. Regarding credit products, the PCF Mastercard is officially available to QC so you don't have to use this trick.
