Transfer Money between TD & PCF

Hi,

Anyone know how to transfer money from TD to PCF and PCF to TD without paying for wire transfer charge?

Thanks,
Harold.
I linked my accounts by sending PCF a void cheque from my TD account. You can find the option in the online PCF site under special requests, I think. Then, you can transfer money back and forth using the PCF site.

Just don't try to use one of the for cheques that they give you when you open a TD chequing account. PC won't accept the cheques that you have to fill in your name & address in the top left corner that you get when you open an account.

On a related note, can you also set it up if you bring a void PC cheque to TD?

You shouldn't need to, since you only need to deal with PCF
I set up mine by creating a request on PCF Online, then send the TD cheque in

Quote:
add an account

Step 1 of 3 Set up an account from another financial institution for easy bank to bank transfers.

transit number:
Your other financial institution's bank, transit and account number can be found on the bottom of your cheques. Be sure to include all the digits in your account number, as the number of digits may vary depending on your financial institution.

bank number:

account number:

To add an account, the following conditions must be met:

* You must send in a void cheque to complete this request. The address will follow.
* Cheques must have your name preprinted on them.
* The name on your account must match your name on your President's Choice Financial accounts.
* Only personal accounts will be accepted. Business and RRSP accounts cannot be added.
* Accounts which require multiple signatures to transfer cannot be added.
* Accounts must be from a Canadian financial institution and funded in Canadian dollars.

Please note: A personal void cheque is the only acceptable document that can be used to complete your request. Other documents from other financial institutions, such as Easy Switch forms, Direct Deposit notifications, preauthorized payment forms, deposit slips and void cheque forms should not be used and will not be accepted.

You misunderstood. I'm wondering if you can essentially do the opposite, give a PC cheque to TD and transfer fund on EasyWeb. (I'm thinking the answer's yes, but banks can be strange)

I didn't misunderstood. I understood perfectly
Just saying, you might as well do it with PCF
as far as I know, TD doesn't have that feature. I know TD has personal payee, but payess has to be TD account holders too

Let me know if you can do it with TD
Try and change your account to another type of account and get the cheques then change back to the original account so you avoid any fees. I don't know if that works. And TD charges you for cheques....
I managed to get free cheques by transferring $5000 into my TDCT account for a few days, and switching to the Infinity account. After I ordered them, I changed my account back to value and took the money out again.

I think you can also get free cheques with TDCT account with the $3000 minimum deposit.
I have TD and PCF.. If i need to transfer money I send myself EMT (email money transfers) back and forth from either account. It's really fast and hassle free.

It's not free though for TD right? And PCF doesn't offer EMT (without even more costly fees since they're not part of the Certapay network).

I also wish TD was no fees like PCF. TD bank has an excellent online web interface (compared to PCF, RBC, etc), branches more widely available, and EMT support. I also think they are open a bit later than other banks. Like they say, what you pay is what you get.
EMT costs $1.50/transaction at TD.

Does it cost anything to transfer money back and forth? Like, will TD or PCF charge any kind of fees, or is the transfer just subject to the hold period?

No fee for bank-to-bank transfer (at least if you initiate it in PCF, that's how I do it)

EMT is $1.50 for TD, and PCF doesn't support EMT

Care to elaborate how you do an EMT between TD and PCF when PCF doesn't support EMT.
