Hi, sorry if this belongs in another forum , but I was wondering, do websites like paypal make money through fees or through advertisments?
What I was curious about is, all those websites that provide services, they generate their primary revenues through advertisements?

Is there anyone who knows lots of details about making money through websites and approx costs involved in starting and maintaining a website that offers a service on the web?

Paypal makes money from fees. I would guess they invested many millions of dollars before any profit. I remember having a dozen accounts just to get the sign up bonus.

Sites like RFD get money through advertisments.

Don't get started about PayPal. They make money by holding yours (both legally and illegally).

I have dealt with Paypal for years, with more than $25,000 in transactions over the years, never with any problem. Ever.
