Hi Guys,

I recently bought a house. I am looking to install a security system. I have basicallly narrowed it down to either ADT or AlarmForce. Does anyone here have any experience with either of these companies? Thanks! NH

Genereally it's up to you, they both have their pros and cons, most of which have been discussed.

waste of $,,,, considering it is a low priority call for police to respond to. Some depts charge a fee for false calls, and if not paid stop responding. Then you can pay extra for renta cop security to respond,,, again, what can they do?

If anything have a alarm that resets itself,,, the noise alone will scare them to take off,, or better still a big dog does the job well.

I wouldn't say it's a waste of money. It's a deterrent. It won't always stop a break-in, but if a burglar is going down the street where you have an alarm and your neighbour doesn't... what house do you think will be broken in to?

Just be sure you get a good deal on the equipment and installation (should be close to free with contract). The monitoring company I am with charges only $5/mo for their private guard response which guarantees no false alarm charges from the police.

Also, integrating a monitored smoke alarm is priceless! Great piece of mind there (as well as extra home insurance $$$ discounts!!!)
