Kasi 5 years and 6 months na ako dito sa Japan...First visa ko eh Instructor - 3 years..and then nag-extend ako..nabigyan ako ulit ng Instructor - 3 years ulit. Paano ako mag-aapply ng PR? Ano ang mga kailangan ko?
Please share your experience or give some advice...:(

Hi! You may be right...it is easier to get a PR especially when youre married to a Japanese or with Japanese relatives...but there are cases too when the nature of your job allows you to get a PR and also the number of years of residency.
Pero, maraming salamat din sa reply mo.
Take care.
hi there..sisingit lang ako dito ha~~about "PR" naman e..:p
married ako but hindi sa Hapon pero "permanent resident" dito sa Japan for 18 yrs na..my question is~~~pwede kaya syang mag~apply for citizenship??? (curious lang po):p does it belong to someone who has Japanese blood or married to Japanese only??
will appreciate your replies!:p

got this info while "googleing". might be of help. regards. Question:What are the requirements for permission for permanent residence?
Answer: Requirements for Permission of Permanent Residence
The applicant should be leading a life of a good citizen without any criminal record or bad behaviors and without neglecting public duties.
The applicant should have sufficient resources or skills to make an independent living. The applicant should be expected to lead a stable life considering his/her resources or skills. This requirement applies to the applicant and his/her family.
The permanent residence of the applicant should be beneficial to Japan. This requirement does not usually apply to foreigners who stay in Japan under the status of "Spouse etc. of a Japanese National".
Length of Stay
The length of the applicant's stay in Japan is not a legal requirement and no definite period of time is predetermined. However, the applicant should have stayed in Japan for some time if he/she were to be assessed against the above three requirements.
As a general rule, the applicant should have stayed in Japan without interruption for more than 10 years. If the applicant entered Japan as a college student and got a job in Japan after graduation, the length of stay should be more than 5 years after the change of the status of residence (after he/she obtained a working visa).
If the applicant is a spouse of a Japanese, permanent resident or special permanent resident, then he/she should have stayed in Japan for more than 3 years.
If the applicant is a child or adopted child of a Japanese or permanent resident, he/she should have stayed in Japan for more than 1 year without interruption.
A Refugee from Indochina or other parts should have stayed in Japan for more than 5 years without interruption.
A long term resident should have stayed in Japan for more than 5 years after obtaining permission for residence.
If the applicant is a person who is recognized to have made a contribution to Japan in the fields of diplomacy, social activities, economy and culture, he/she should have stayed in Japan for more than 5 years.Obtaining permission for permanent residence will bring you many advantages. It will become easier for you to apply for a housing loan or to have credit cards issued. However, you will still need such formalities as alien registration and re-entry permission unless you obtain Japanese nationality.
Question:What are the formalities for obtaining permission for permanent residence?
Answer:You should apply for permission for permanent residence to the local Immigration Bureau. 1. Application Form 2. Document to certify your behaviors are good
Tax certificates for the past 3 years (income tax, fixed assets tax, resident tax, enterprise tax, etc.)
Testimonial, letter of appreciation, etc. to certify that you have contributed to Japan or to local communities, if any
Document to prove that you have sufficient income, resources or skills to make an independent living in Japan (in a case where the applicant is a dependent of another person, document on such person)
Document to show your assets (fixed assets, bank diposits, etc.)
Document to show your income tax and occupation for the past 3 years
Copy of commercial license, etc.
Copy of company register and earnings statement, financial report, etc., if you are engaged in a business
Medical examination report
The report should contain specific description as to whether you have contracted illnesses that might endanger public health (syphilis or other contagious diseases or addicts to narcotics or stimulant drugs)
Fidelity guaranty
Document to certify your marital and parental condition
Certified copy of Japanese spouse's family register, if your application is based on the fact that you are the spouse of a Japanese.
Document to certify your nationality, birth certificate, and other documents to explain reasons for obtaining a status of residence, if you are to apply for permission by obtaining a status of residence
Statement of reasons for desiring permanent residence (in Japanese)(Spouse or child of a Japanese, permanent resident or special permanent resident does not need the 1st and the 2nd of the above.)
(A person who has been recognized as a refugee does not need the 2nd of the above.)
Hi! Ruby! My name is erleen (male) nakakuha ako ng permanent residence visa kahit wala asawa na japanese.
i think its wrong about the information na pwede lang makapag apply ng PR yong mga may asawang Japanese or may anak na Japanese or meron blood na Japanese. you can also apply for PR like the one posted above. the main requirements here are:
(1) length of stay mo here in Japan
(2) your records. wala ka bang criminal records na nagawa here
(3) your status. kaya mo bang buhayin ang sarili mo here? meaning may stable job ka ba. dito papasok yong mga papers na manggagaling sa company mo.
(4) your contribution to japanese society. meron ka bang ginagawang contribution sa community like doing some voluntary activity
(5) last is your reason why you wanted to apply for PR
kaya siguro yong iba ang alam lang eh makakakuha ka lang ng PR pag kasal ka sa Japanese is because this is the common na makikita mo or maririnig at common advises ng ilang pinoy sa atin. at yon din ang pinaka easy way. pero sa totoo lang there are lots of ways para makakuha ka. you just need to search it at magtanong tanong po. then filter all information you got and balance it kung alin ba ang totoo.

i agree, striver. although i do not have a PR yet, i have heard many stories about pinoys in japan who were able to secure a PR without being married to japanese or not being of japanese blood. kaya nga nakakatuwa na makita ang post ni erleen. (Thanks, Erleen!) maraming nakabasa ng sharing niya na andito sa japan pero working visa lang. makakatulong ng malaki ang sharing that she posted...sana this sharing will continue...
thanks!
@dawn gazer2: Youre welcome.
Nakakapagtaka diba?
Hindi tinanggap yung application nya kasi hindi tumupad dun sa exact date or before that day. On my observation kasi nag babasa ako ng mga rules etc sa Japan Immigration site eh tinitingnan din yung character nung tao. Imagine 1 weeks yata ang binigay sa kanya para asikasuhin yung mga papers, kung tutuusin eh 1 day lang eh makukuha mo na lahat yan (kasi ako 1 day ko inasikaso lahat eh). Then after ilang months eh nag divorce na sila nung husband nya, then apply ulit sya tinanong ulit sya "ano ang work ng asawa mo?" sumagot sya divorce na sila. Tapos nag renew ulit sya another 3 years. Dinaretso sya ng immigration eh sana daw nakapag apply daw sya before sila nag divorce. Mottainai daw.
I mean the culture etc.
TIME IS GOLD.
